No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie is an easy chilled dessert made with an Oreo crust, fluffy peanut butter cream cheese filling, chocolate pudding, and Cool Whip. It takes 30 mins of prep and sets up into creamy, chocolatey layers that are great for potlucks, holidays, or make ahead dessert trays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Oreo cookies, regular or double stuffed
  • ¾ stick butter, melted
  • 16 oz. Cool Whip
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 5.9 oz. instant chocolate pudding
  • 3 cups cold milk, or as indicated on pudding package

Instructions

  1. Reserve topping: Set aside about 5 Oreo cookies if you want crumbs for decorating the top.
  2. Crush cookies: Pulse the remaining Oreos into fine crumbs in a food processor, or crush them well in a sealed bag.
  3. Make crust: Mix the Oreo crumbs with melted butter until evenly moistened, then press firmly into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  4. Prepare filling: Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then add half of the Cool Whip, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Beat on medium high until creamy and spread it evenly over the crust.
  5. Add pudding: Whisk the cold milk with the instant chocolate pudding according to the package directions, then spread it over the peanut butter layer once set.
  6. Finish pie: Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the pudding, decorate with reserved Oreo crumbs or chocolate shavings, and chill for a couple of hours before serving for cleaner slices.

Notes

Soften the cream cheese before mixing so the peanut butter layer turns smooth instead of lumpy.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freeze tightly covered for up to 3 months, then thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
Avoid spreading pudding before it thickens, or the layers may blur together.
