Cozy Ravioli Lasagna

Cozy Ravioli Lasagna

Cozy Ravioli Lasagna is an easy baked pasta dinner made with refrigerated ravioli, hearty meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and melted mozzarella. It gives you all the saucy comfort of lasagna without boiling noodles, making it perfect for family dinners, potlucks, or a cozy weekend meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Ricotta Mixture
1 cup ricotta
1 egg, beaten
¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
¾ teaspoon oregano
¾ teaspoon basil
¾ teaspoon parsley
½ teaspoon salt
Meat Sauce
½ pound ground beef
Salt and pepper, to taste
½ pound ground Italian sausage, sweet, mild, or spicy
1 small yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon tomato paste
¾ teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 jars marinara sauce, 24 ounces each
½ cup chicken broth
Ravioli and Mozzarella
40 ounces refrigerated ravioli, uncooked
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix the ricotta: Stir the ricotta, beaten egg, parmesan, oregano, basil, parsley, and salt together in a bowl until creamy and evenly combined.
  2. Brown the meat: Cook the ground beef and Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles until browned. Season with salt and pepper, then drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Build the sauce: Add the diced onion and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until softened. Stir in the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, tomato paste, and Italian seasoning, then cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Simmer the sauce: Pour in the marinara sauce and chicken broth. Simmer gently for 5 to 8 minutes, until the sauce is warm, rich, and slightly loosened.
  5. Layer the lasagna: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a greased baking dish, then add ravioli, dollops of ricotta mixture, more meat sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat the layers, ending with sauce and mozzarella on top.
  6. Bake until bubbling: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 10 to 15 minutes more, until the edges are bubbling, the ravioli is tender, and the cheese is melted with golden spots.

Notes

Use cheese ravioli for the most classic lasagna flavor, or try beef, sausage, spinach, or mushroom ravioli for a simple twist. Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days, and baked portions can be frozen for up to 2 months. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing so the layers hold together better.
